The St. Louis Shamrox, a select team comprised of varsity level high school players, recently competed in the University of North Carolina Team Camp, which was held Sunday, July 28 through Wednesday, July 31. The Shamrox Elite team competed and went 4-4 over the course of the tournament. Bryce Rommel (Lafayette H.S.) was awarded the team’s only All-Star spot for his performance during the 4 day event.
When asked about the performance of his team, Shamrox Elite Head Coach Mario Cassani had this to say:
“We had a great time at the UNC team camp. Both of our teams, Elite and Rising were 4 and 4. We were competitive this year and lost a couple of close games. We played top teams from Baltimore, New, York Minnesota, Dallas, North Carolina and others. We had one all-star represent the club on the Elite team, Bryce Rommel from Lafayette. He had a great camp and was great on the offensive side of the ball drawing looks from colleges attending the event.”
The Shamrox pull student-athletes from the St. Louis Metro area, along with other metro travel teams like the St. Louis Samurai and MO22. Shamrox had their fall tryouts on August 10-11 and will compete in events this fall / winter such as: Great America Fall Classic (Chicago, IL), the Great Pumpkin Warm-Up (St. Louis, MO) and THE event to be at in the winter – the Adrenaline Shoot Out (San Diego, CA).
