Show Me Lax is proud to release its 2013 MSLA Division I Coaches Poll. The poll was put together by a number of coaches from the Missouri Scholastic Lacrosse Association’s Division I. Listed below are the teams, along with the number of first place votes.
1. O’Fallon
2. De Smet
3. MICDS
6. Rockwood Summit
10. Webster Groves
NOTES: The new number #1 is who? While MICDS was the hands down favorite for the first few weeks of the season, O’Fallon has now taken that spot. O’Fallon is the only team in the MSLA DI who has yet to lose (8-0). They also may be in trouble over the next few weeks. Of their remaining 10 games O’Fallon will see a team with a sub .500 record only twice and will face 7 other top 10 teams, including #2 De Smet, #3 MICDS and #5 Eureka. Will the Panthers have what it takes to close out the rest of the season? Or will a new team take over as the favorite in DI?
- #8 Ladue (6-1) travels to #3 MICDS (3-3) on Tuesday, April 16. MICDS won last year’s match up 15-3, but with new Head Coach Pat Callaham, Ladue will be looking to pull off the upset.
- #6 Rockwood Summit travels to #2 De Smet on Thursday, April 11. If you’re a fan of defense, this will be the game to see; both teams do it well.
- #7 CBC travels to #9 Lafayette on Friday, April 12. Both teams are striving to make a name for themselves in 2013, so this should be a hard fought game by both sides.
